Important notice:
From 15th May 2012, the team delivering the work of the NPC will form the NICE Medicines and Prescribing Centre and will sit alongside the Clinical Guidelines team within the Centre for Clinical Practice.
As part of NICE, all future Medicines and prescribing outputs will be published on the NICE website and signposted from the Medicines and prescribing home page.
Controlled Drugs Record Card (CDRC)
Following a detailed review by the NPC into the proposal for a national Controlled Drugs Record Card (CDRC) as indicated by the Fourth Shipman Inquiry, the results of that review are now available to read and download.

Phase One report covers the background to the CDRC, a review of the pilot sites and the opinions of key stakeholders on how the CDRC could be implemented in a way that would achieve its desired aim.

Phase Two report provides a series of recommendations that build on the current regulatory infrastructure already in place. The recommendations are largely for local implementation.
